FlyArystan, Kazakhstan’s low fare airline, shared the results for 2021. The airline has operated almost 20 thousand flights with more than 80% on-time performance by the end of December Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The route map of low-cost company offers 44 routes including 12 international destinations. In the current year, company has launched 10 new routes within Kazakhstan. The number of flights has increased from 235 to 456 compared to 2020.
The number of carried passengers has doubled compared to the previous year as 3 million clients have chosen FlyArystan in 2021. The average age of passenger has risen and it is 37 years old. The results of the current year confirms that the majority of our customers represents the family segment. In 2021, the main reason for travel of our passengers was to visit their relatives and beloved ones.
Changes have also occurred in the habits of our passengers. Half of the passengers who traveled with baggage in 2020 paid for it at the airport (according to LLC practice ticket price includes 5 kg of hand baggage that cannot exceed (56*23*36 cm)). However, tendency has changed in 2021 as more than 65% of passengers plan their trip and pay online in advance saving costs considerably.
The number of carried animals also increased twice. Flights Almaty - Nur-Sultan and Almaty - Kostanay were the most popular routes for carrying animals on board in 2021.
The number of transported bicycles have doubled as well. The carriage of skis and snowboards is popular among additional services as well. Passengers of Karaganda-Almaty flight ordered this service more often than others. Due to start of skiing season in Georgia, FlyArystan has launched discount for ski equipment on flights to/from Kutaisi just for 499 KZT (more info at flyarystan.com).
More than 70% of on board payments in the first half of 2021 were in cash. By the end of year, more than half of passengers have used cards to pay. Besides, FlyArystan in cooperation with partners offers the insurance during flight including international routes.
The world’s leading aviation rating agency Skytrax has recognized the dynamic development of Kazakhstan’s LCC. FlyArystan got rating as one of the top airlines in Central Asia. The national award “Georgia’s Tourism” has awarded FlyArystan as a new airline in local market that carried the biggest number of passengers from/to Georgia by 2021.
Since the start of operations in May 2019 the minimum ticket price has not changed. The tickets sale starts twice in a year – for spring-summer in winter and for autumn-winter travels in summer. For this reason, we regularly advise our customers to book tickets and pay for additional services in advance.
Apart from the contribution to tourism industry, the low-cost carrier was pleased to support pupils and students from social vulnerable groups in Atyrau within the project that organized creative workshops. Students could travel to Almaty and Aktau and take part in those workshops.
FlyArystan has started supporting hockey club «Saryarqa» from Karaganda and football club “Turan” in Turkistan. LLC has been a partner of the first Turkistan International Marathon in November 2021.
