A cooperation agreement was signed between the Secretariat of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of States - Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
Al-Farabi KazNU hosted a meeting of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuymebaev with representatives of the Secretariat of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of States, which resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement.
Welcoming the representatives of the delegation, the head of the university spoke about the achievements of the country's leading university, expressing interest in developing international relations and strengthening relations with the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of States. “We are proud that our university occupies a fairly high position - 175th place in the QS World University Rankings and is the first and only university in the Central Asian region that has received “Five Stars” of excellence in the international ranking of QS Stars Rating System . The university implements more than 650 educational programs, of which 120 are double degree programs jointly with universities in the USA, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Russian Federation. Our university has a great research potential,” said the rector. “We are interested in expanding international relations, cooperation and implementation of joint promising projects with the Secretariat of the IPA CIS.”
In his response speech, the Secretary General - Head of the Secretariat of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the States Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Dmitry Kobitsky, briefly described the activities of the influential organization. “The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of States deals with many issues. The first and most important thing is model lawmaking, on the basis of which the laws of the CIS countries are developed. We are also implementing important projects for the youth of the Commonwealth. I am sure that we can cooperate in this direction as well,” stressed the Secretary General.
The meeting ended with the ceremony of signing an agreement that determined the main areas of interaction between the parties in the development of model legislative acts, holding joint scientific and practical conferences, symposiums and seminars, and implementing common scientific projects.
