The solemn opening of a memorial plaque in honor of the famous scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Kulzhabay Kasymov took place in Almaty, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
A commemorative plaque was installed on the wall of house No. 63/17 on Al-Farabi Avenue.
The opening ceremony of the memorial plaque was attended by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuymebayev, the scientist's relatives, his friends, colleagues, students, as well as representatives of the city administration and public figures.
During his welcoming speech, Zhanseit Kanseitovich noted that Kulzhabay Kasymov was a professional, dedicated to his work and made a great contribution to the development of mathematics.
“Kulzhabay Abdykalikovich is a graduate of Al-Farabi KazNU. His craving for science and scientific research was noticed within the walls of the university. As a student, he was engaged in scientific issues of matrix algebra related to the development of effective methods for solving linear systems of equations. These studies later formed the basis of his thesis. During his life, the scientist wrote dozens of works on mathematics, brought up many students,” said the rector of the university.
Kulzhabay Kasymov was one of the leading scientists on differential equations. He is the author of over 200 scientific papers, including 5 monographs and three volumes of the course "Higher Mathematics" in the Kazakh language. Under his leadership, 52 candidate and 3 doctoral dissertations were defended. For outstanding services, he was awarded the medal "Ybyray Altynsarin" for special merits in the field of education and pedagogical science, the order "Kurmet".
Now the name of the scientist is immortalized on a memorial tablet so that future generations will remember the contribution of Kulzhabay Kasymov to the development of the mathematical science of the republic.
