Following the President’s directive, a Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev took part in the World Government Summit 2026. At one of the world’s most influential platforms shaping future global agendas, Kazakhstan clearly outlined its strategic ambition: to become a global hub for computing power and data processingDKNews.kz reports.

From Energy to Computing Power

At the summit, Kazakhstan presented itself as a country capable of directly converting its energy potential into computing capacity — a decisive advantage in the era of artificial intelligence. The delegation held a series of negotiations covering every stage of building an AI ecosystem, from energy and data centers to neural network training, investment, and applied AI solutions.

AI Factories and Data Infrastructure

A core focus of the meetings was the creation of high-performance data centers and so-called “AI factories.” Discussions with Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, head of the G42 technology holding, helped define concrete steps toward developing large-scale data storage and processing infrastructure in Kazakhstan.

Sheikh Tahnoun is one of the most influential figures in the global AI landscape. As head of G42 and a key national security adviser in the UAE, he invests billions of dollars in AI infrastructure worldwide — from hyperscale data centers to strategic partnerships with global technology leaders.

Low-Carbon, Energy-Efficient Data Centers

Another important meeting took place with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei. The talks focused on building energy-efficient, low-carbon data centers, a priority as AI-driven computing dramatically increases global energy demand.

Al Mazrouei is among the first to compare artificial intelligence to oil, promoting a model in which countries export not raw energy, but ready-made “computing power” generated from clean energy sources.

Strengthening Government-to-Government Partnerships

One of the key outcomes of the visit was the strengthening of interstate cooperation. Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Cabinet of Ministers and held high-level meetings with the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Omar Sultan Al Olama and Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi to align digital strategies.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Kazakh delegation also met with the President of Estonia and an adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, highlighting Kazakhstan’s expanding regional and international digital diplomacy.

Technology, Investment, and Venture Capital

To advance its “AI hub” strategy, Kazakhstan held talks with leading technology and investment players. Discussions covered advanced architectures for training complex neural networks, scaling a national “data center valley,” hybrid cloud solutions, and the integration of AI into financial and payment systems.

Capital attraction was a major theme in meetings with global investment leaders, including major asset managers and specialized funds. Strengthening the venture capital ecosystem also featured prominently, signaling Kazakhstan’s intent to foster not only infrastructure, but also innovation and startups.

New Frontiers of the Future Economy

Particularly notable were discussions with transport authorities and a national space center, opening opportunities in low-altitude economy development and unmanned logistics. These emerging sectors are expected to reshape mobility, supply chains, and urban infrastructure in the coming decade.

Kazakhstan on the New Global Technology Map

World Government Summit 2026 brought together a record number of influential leaders shaping the future of governance, technology, and investment. For Kazakhstan, participation went beyond visibility — it confirmed the country’s status as an ambitious and forward-looking player on the emerging global technology map.

By strategically aligning energy, computing power, and artificial intelligence, Kazakhstan is positioning itself for sustainable growth in the next technological era. The summit made clear that this message has been heard on the global stage.
