At the initiative of the Kazakh side, a bilateral meeting was held between the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Gabit Koishibayev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batmunkh Battsetseg, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the current agenda of the Kazakh-Mongolian bilateral cooperation. Thus, an exchange of views took place on the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, including those dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The participants of the meeting noted that the progressive development and further strengthening of the Kazakh-Mongolian partnership largely depends on how close the contacts and systematic mutual exchanges established between the two countries at various levels are. In addition, according to the parties, it is very important to ensure the high efficiency of such a mechanism for coordinating bilateral cooperation as the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
The interlocutors also discussed a number of specific areas of common interest, in particular, cooperation in transport and logistics sector, in the field of telecommunications technologies, processing of livestock products and mining industry, as well as cooperation between business associations of two countries.
During the conversation, the parties also touched upon the topic of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia in international organizations including issues of collaboration and mutual support within the framework of UN, CICA, SCO, IAEA and also issues of promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of global biological security.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to maintain regular contacts and exchange of information on topical and current issues of Kazakh-Mongolian relations.
